Something's Gotta Give

This is what Philip looked like when he arrived at my house this afternoon. At first he wouldn't tell me what happened, just kept saying he was hit by something. Under the circumstance, I had no option but to call an ambulance to transport him to the hospital.

This gash is on the left side of his back. His shirt and clothes were saturated with blood.

He had a gash on his head, too. That was also on the left side, on the crown of his head.

Eventually, Philip told me that Cassandra had been cause of the injuries. After the ambulance left, Cassandra came to the house to get the car keys and we talked a minute. Cassandra told me she had done this to Philip - she didn't mean to hurt him. When I asked if they had been fighting, she told me yes and said this was the first time in a long time they'd fought. Good thing for Philip. He couldn't handle this very often.

My heart breaks for them.

Philip's Birthday

We had sandwiches and cake at the city park It was so much fun!

Happy Birthday Philip

Twenty-five years old! Where does the time go?

It's been tough going at times. It's still quite a challenge. There've been so many opportunities lost. So many good memories. There are so man`y options. I hope and pray this is the turning point for you. The year you decide to seek worthwile pursuits. The change has to come from within. It must be a committment you make to make changes in your life.

I love you Philip. I'll always love you.

Oh, and I'm looking forward to getting some nice pictures of you today.

He Was Here

Philip came and watched TJei's soccer game tonight. We were ate up by mosquitos! The game was fun although it was a low scoring event. I was taking pics of the kids playing and Philip kept weirding out, backing away saying, "You didn't get me in there, did you?"

When I assusred him I was taking pics of the kids and not taking pics of him, he wanted to know why I hadn't taken a pic of him watching the game. "What's wrong, Mrs. Boyle? Why don't you take a picture of me at the game?"

LOL

So, here it is. A pic of Philip at the game. :)

Roses, Etc.

This is Cassandra...she is a sweet little gal and has been with Philip for some time now.

This is Andre', Cassandra is his Mommy. Andre' is a tiny little guy, cute as a button. He really liked that toy brush. He wasn't going to trust setting it aside. :)

And then, Philip and Cassandra. They are a cute couple, I hope they get their act together.

And this is a rose, hence title of this post. A lovely rose from the backyard. Philip and I planted that rose bush years ago, in memory of his mother. It has lasted out there in the hot, dry summers. This year it decided to show its blooms. How lovely. How sweet smelling. How pretty. I am glad Philip was able ot see the bush in bloom...before the kids picked off all the flowers. :)

Fresh Start

Philip is off to a fresh new start today. It is my prayer that he will do the things he needs to do and avoid things that won't help him to realize his dreams. There is so much to look forward to and so much living life to be done. I love you. Philip. Please pray often and seek help through prayer and friends to make good choices.

Happy Birthday Philip

Well, I know you won't be seeing this message ... at least not for a long time still. I do hope you received the card we sent to you and I hope you know that you're in my thoughts and prayers; that I love you dearly.

Wednesday Visitors

Wednesday brought many visitors to SJ. Robert Lewis and his friend Morning Star stopped by to visit and see how Philip is doing. Robert has been in touch regularly and has tried to be supportive of Philip. Robert was in SJ for a hearing on his young kids, he has been working hard to increase visitation and time with his youngsters and be reunited with his young daughter who is now living in Texas. He's making progress and we're wishing him well!

Our precious little 3 month old Mia came up for a visit along with her Mommy. They arrived late Wednesday afternoon and stayed until Friday afternoon. It was great to see her and spend some time cuddling and playing with her ... good to see Jodie, too. :) TJei went home with her mom and sister when they left. :(

Quentin came up late Wednesday evening. He stayed in SJ just overnight and returned to Pima after a long day of snowboarding fun at Sunrise with Tom Tanner all day Thursday. It does look like they had a lot of fun playing in the snow!

Things Went So Wrong

It is such a sad and dark day. :(

Philip was sentenced to DOC today. The court and judicial system is so complicated, I'm not sure what the final outcome will be. As near we can tell, he was sentenced to 2.5 years for one offense and 1.5 years for another with 78 days credit for the time he's been confined.Philip It was my understanding there was to be 3 different charges that he'd be sentenced on. I only heard two. I hope the third one doesn't come back to haunt at a later time.

It wasn't supposed to be like this. He was supposed to finish up high school and move on to start his life as a young adult ... with the world to explore. Bad choices have plagued him over recent years. Things have gone so wrong and now they're getting much more complicated. My heart breaks with the knowledge he'll soon be transferred to a prison facility - he'll be alone in a harsh, harsh world.
