Party In The Park

It is so hard to believe she is already nine years old! It was fun to celebrate with little cousins and her friends at the City Park. Word to the wise...avoid red icing in the future!

I Couldn't Be Happier

...it is so amazingly good to be able to call my sister and wish her a happy birthday!  Millie, I am so glad you were born, so glad you are my sister. I adore you and I hope you know always how very much I love you. You are the most patient person I know. I strive to have the kind of love you have for so many...a love that is patient, and kind, and trusting at all times. I hope you are able to celebrate your special day in the way that makes you happiest, surrounded by family. I love you!

Happy Birthday Jodie!

It hardly seems possible that you are 30 years old! Oh how the time has passed by. Life is usually so rocky for the two of us. I wish it weren't so but life is what it is. I love you, Jodie and wish you all the happiness that may come your way as you celebrate your special day and begin your journey into Thirty Something. :)

Birthday Wishes

Happy birthday! It is so hard to believe you're in your 30's...you're still my little guy, and always will be. No one has held my heart in the way you hold mine. The hurts are so deep, the joys so precious, there is pride beyond measure. I love you John and hope that this day is special beyond measure for you.

Happy 1st Birthday!

Happy birthday, sweetheart. Grandma loves you bunches and bunches. It is so much fun to spend time with you because you are such a happy little girl. You love to be a girly-girl and a daring little romp-em, stomp-em adventurer all in one. You follow your brother around and do all that he does, with the same enthusiasm and energy. Hugs and kisses for you on your special day. ♥ ♥ ♥

Turning One

Jayden wasn't especially excited about the set-up and preparations for her birthday bash! She was tuckered and napping well. :)

Daphne was excited to see her little cousin! It was so cute watching her reaction when the two little cousins first got together at the shindig. TThese two are only two months age difference and they are good playmates and buddies, I sure hope that continues as they get older.  :)

Little Ashlee, the baby of the family, was looking spiffy, too. I can't beleive she is so alert and active at only four months old. The heat didn't seem to bother her at all, other than embellishing those cute little pink cheeks. :)

Philip and Cassandra were having a good time and being good sports as Philip donned a set of Lady Bug antenae. Andre' was with other family so he wasn't here at the party.

I love this picture of Baylee! Her little face mirrors the heat of playing, swinging, climbing, running and having fun in 109 degree heat! I'm so glad she was downing lots of water. :)

Felicia and Kelly made the cutest "ladybug" cake for Jayden's birthday celebration. Felicia also had several dozen ladybug cupcakes! It was so cute watching Jayden dig in to the cake, too. She started off just plucking off chocolate drops, one by one, and eating or sharing them with everyone within reach. Just those two little fingers getting dirty!

After a while, they did get her to try more f the cake, and she did have fun playing in the cake...making her own little mess without getting in trouble. :)

Davis had no trouble devouring a cupcake and spreading chocolate across his face. :)

Daphne was so charming in her white eyelet dress and rosey cheeks...I love this picture of her!

Mia was having fun with her little cousins and playing on the playground at Desert Mountain Park.

TJei loves "theme" parties and activities. It was just a coincidence that her dress was red and black plaid, fit right in with the red and black decorations. :)

Happy birthday, Jayden! You're precious and we love you so very much!

Ladybug

That's the cutest little party invite ever! Felicia made the ladybug invitations for Jayden's first birthday celebration. That was so creative. :)

Birthday Call

I love that Baylee has the communication skills to carry on a conversation over the phone! She's only three! :)  She called for my birthday and we talked about so many topics...her preschool, bike riding, her little sister, swimming not swimming because the pool isn't clean, sea lions and how they sound (she went to California with Mommy), holding a parrot,  and, of course, my birthday. :)

I love you Baylee girl!

Black River Picnic

Isn't he the cutest? This little guy never ceases to entertain me. He has the most endearing smile and gaze and his laugh is contagious.

When we first arrived at a camp/picnic spot he wasn't real sure about venturing too far away from mommy and daddy. I had to make him take a walk with Grandma to see what was "over there." Once he saw the water, that was it...no more prodding him to come long. It was all I could do to hold him back! I love this little guy and he loves his water. :) I love this picture, too. He had already gotten his shoes off and waded around for a bit. Now he's tossing rocks.

Isn't this an amazing contrast of colors?  TJei in her colorful shirt and shorts and the intense greens of the surrounding area. The kids had so much fun climbing around on those rocks, staying "dry" as they played in the icy cold water so high in the mountains.

They kept easing out, further and further. Still, they did a pretty good job of getting "just their feet" wet. :)

Jacob and Maria couldn't have picked a better activity to help celebrate my birthday! I loved getting away for a few hours and especially loved watching the little ones as they explored and played. :)

While we were at the water's edge, Jacob and Maria had hauled stuff from the vehicle and spread out the foodstuff. They had things all set-up by the time we came back. :)

That's Maria's parents van in the background. They let us use it to go up which was really nice because we could visit together all the way up and back. I have the best neighbors in-law ever!

Not your typical picnic, but the best kind. Little kids ...and lots of them. We had rolls and turkey and beef for sandwiches with trimmings. I even took along some crasins for the turkey sandwiches, and the kids. :) They had chips and potato salad, water and sodas. hahaha They even brought along a bottle of Pepsi, just for me. :) Feeling the love here.

Jacob and Maria had a tray of cupcakes, too...and all of them sang Happy Birthday to me before digging in.

The kids had so much fun climbing around on rocks and exploring the nearby areas. There were some little chipmunks and grey squirrels squrrying about in the area  around us. The kids loved when they spotted one playing in the dense forest growth.

Daphne is so cute! She has four teeth on the bottom now. And she has grown so much, even since I last saw her at Baylee's birthday just one month ago. :) I love that cheesy smile of hers!

And, the gifts...gotta mention the gifts. They're awesome! The girls gave me a card with their hand prints traced inside. So many memories...that's what I always did with my kids when I sent a card to my mom or family in Ohio. It was the best way to show them how much the kids had grown. They also gave me a spiral tablet, too. I know how much they love tablets so I know it was a special gift from them.  Love these girls!

And, gotta wipe the tears just to even write about the terrific gift from Jacob, Maria and the kids. I absolutely LOVE this book of pictures and sentiment. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness even though I feel a bit guilty knowing how you two are pinching pennies during these tough times. I love you bunches and will cherish this gift. :)

Can't you just see this scene on a Norman Rockwell type print? I love it!

After eating, singing, gift-opening, and crying (that was me) Jacob and Maria took a turn going to the river's edge with the kids.

I stayed behind with this dazzling diva, Daphne...

Talk about a character! She was grabbing up little rocks from the ground and as she'd grab one, she'd turn away from me and pop it into her mouth. Reminded me of the little ones as they cover their eyes and disappear, the adults not being able to "see" them because they had their eyes hidden. I wasn't supposed to know what she was doing...Grandma just kept removing those rocks though! :)

And Grandma did a much better job of keeping the kids dry down at the river. ~wink~ I think Jacob had as much fun as the little ones playing in that icy water!

Such an amazing scene. It was so quiet and tranquil.

The air was crisp and clear, not too warm, not too cool. It really was a great day to visit the mountains!

Davis was shivering, he was so cold from playing in that water. He didn't want to quit though! :)

LOL Even after he got those wet clothes off, he wasn't too concerned about putting on anything dry...or anything at all. :)

The two f them had to wear clothes that were too small in order to make due. I didn't have dry shirts for TJei or MIa (Mia kept her clothes dry) so TJei had to wear Davis' little hoodie and Davis wore Daphne's. They looked so cute with their little tummies peeking out. :)

It was so much fun! Thank you for making this day so special.

Happy Birthday Philip

Twenty-five years old! Where does the time go?

It's been tough going at times. It's still quite a challenge. There've been so many opportunities lost. So many good memories. There are so man`y options. I hope and pray this is the turning point for you. The year you decide to seek worthwile pursuits. The change has to come from within. It must be a committment you make to make changes in your life.

I love you Philip. I'll always love you.

Oh, and I'm looking forward to getting some nice pictures of you today.
