This one's for Demitrius as he heals from recent tonsil removal surgery. TJei was more than enthusiastic to have her head bobbed so her nose would go into the icing the very same way Demitrius did it last year on her birthday! She really does think now that this is a necessary part of the birthday cake enjoyment.
TJei, you mean the world to us. Grandma and Grandpa love you so very much and we are so happy you are part of our lives. I hope you always keep this love of learning, love of church and primary, love for Heavenly Father and hope you'll always love your grandma and grandpa and the rest of your family.
In this past year you have grown and explored so much more of your world. You attended preschool with Miss Natalie, made new friends at Headstart, built on your love for dancing with Mrs. Houser (she taught your mommy, too) and sparkled like a firefly at your first dance recital. Grandpa taught you how to count higher and higher and you've gotten quite accustomed to asking, "how do you spell that?" whether you're wanting me to spell something aloud or write it on paper. You love to draw and write although the writing at this point is still mainly gibberish. You do get your name down on paper pretty well and you are awesome at drawing figures and items. You always add that curly hair when drawing yourself on paper. :)
You've learned to play rock, paper, scissors and sometimes we use that game during sacrament meeting to keep you from getting restless. You've also learned to play Uno and you just love that game! It is so much fun to see you combine your knowledge of colors and numbers during that game. If only there were a game that added shapes to the mix, you'd have that one mastered, too! You had fun playing your first season of t-ball, too. It was a lot of fun for grandpa, grandma and your mommy as we watched you on that field ... sometimes picking dandelion flowers, sometimes running off to your friends at the sidelines, sometimes turning backwards to watch what was going on in the next field ... it was great!
You love to sing and there is nothing in this world that means more to me than hearing you sing, "I'm going to the temple." You have memorized and sing so many songs, it really is a joy to hear you singing away as you play.
You have gotten registered for kindergarten and will start school in a bit more than one month. What a handful you'll be for some lucky teacher!
Happy, happy 5th birthday sweetheart!
