Life Changes So Quickly

In recent days we have learned that two people we know have encountered life-altering medical conditions. It is humbling to think of the challenges being faced by so many.

A young friend had a nagging cough, his employer suggested he get chest x-rays and a check-up. After the x-ray, he was immediately sent to a cardiologist who then had him transported ot a hospital for surgery. Oh my heck...flashback here to the check-up Mike went for and they immediately transferred him to the Arizona Heart Hospital and performed emergency surgery. I know how frightening all of that is!

My prayers are with their family while they wait additional information on what is happening.

Today, I also learned of another unusual medical emergency. A fellow we know has been experiencing headaches. He was in the valley and the headache reached a frenzy. He went to the emergency room and a CT scan was completed. He was then transferred to Barrows Neurological Institute where he'll have brain surgery. Oh my stars! That's just unreal...what a shock for him and his family. My prayers will be with them as they face this challenge.

I am reminded of Kate's words...just one accident, one medical procedure, one misstep away ...life can change so drastically, moment by moment.

My heart is heavy for these families and the trials they are enduring.

Another friend is in my thoughts as he faces the responsibility of burying his mom. Hugh Moulton has done so much to love and care for his mom, especially since his dad died a couple years ago. His sister from Utah has also given so much. She has been here caring for her mom as often as possible. They and other siblings and family will have a memorial service for Jean on Friday in Glendale. They, too, will be in my prayers.

Dance Practice

The girls are taking dance classes with Tara Crosby, Precision Dance, and they love being out there performing. In these pictures they are at the SJHS football field learning their line-up for the performance tomorrow during half-time of the Lady Redskins soccer game.

Mia is wearing a blue shirt and gray yoga pants. Two to the left from Mia is Maryn, my little neighbor.

Mia's Sick

Mia had to visit the hospital...again. She went two days earlier, to a different hospital, but they obviously didn't get to the root of her illness because she's still a sick little girl.

There are more pictures and more on the situation on Mia's blog page. Click to visit...Sick Little Girl.

Pictures At The Park

We went to the park this morning to take pictures of the girls. I was trying to get a picture of Mia to use for her birthday celebration announcements. There's a bunch of cute ones to choose from. :)

And, we had fun along with taking pictures. :)

Corrals

TJei and Mia are so infatuated with horses! They are always spotting Black Beauty or Flicka or other horses as we ride along in the vehicle. Having the fairground corrals so close to the house doesn't do me any favors, either. They are always asking to go see the horses. On this day, that's just what we did. I turned in at the corrals and the girls went through admiring all the horses and checking out the colts. They looked so cute as they scaled those rail gates to get a better view. :)

Creativity

I've been going into TJei's class and helping the youngsters put together a scrapbook of their year in 1st grade. Mrs. Hancock asked if I would take a picture with the class on this particular visit and, of course, the kids wanted to do a "goofy" picture. Ugh. Well, okay.

Then, some of us smiled for a picture. TJei, where's the smile?

On the way out from the classroom, I couldn't help but notice these amazing pictures and stories. These were done by 1st graders! They're terrific! TJei wasn't at school when they did the nature walk and drew the pictures so she doesn't have one displayed.

A few more glances along the hallways and these adorable Mary Engelbright inspired images come into view. These are on the wall just outside Sharon Raban's classroom.

Creativity is all around at Coronado Elementary!
